With vehicle sitting level and the engine running, selector lever in park,
fluid warm, at 95-113°F/35-45°C, the fluid should be half way between the two
dots. As the transmission temperature increases, the fluid level will rise, as well. Correct level at any time, should be between the upper and lower dots. If below the lower dot, add fluid. If above the upper dot, you must drain some fluid out of the pan.
This kit includes the dipstick tube, the dipstick, and the O-ring for the tube base, along with some brief installation instructions. Installation is not difficult but, it is a little dirty, greasy and somewhat time consuming. The current dipstick that we offer now has a yellow loop on the end, rather than a "T" handle.
This will replace the short and almost useless plastic fill tube that is attached to the side of your automatic transmission. It will allow you to check the fluid level at any time, whether the engine is cool or at operating temperature. It will also allow you to add fluid to your transmission thru the metal dipstick tube. A long, thin tapered funnel is most helpful for doing so.
