The VIN or Vehicle Identification Number is a unique sequence of characters assigned by Volkswagen to identify each individual vehicle; call it your car's DNA. Each of the 17 letters and numbers indicates certain facts about the vehicle and its manufacture. VIN numbers are needed when there is a mid-production change or modification. References to VIN numbers on this website are truncated and will include only these positions:
Position 7-8: Model Designation (70 designates Eurovan)
Position 10: Model Year
Position 12-17: Production Sequence Number
From VIN 70 T 534821 means the part was used on Model Designation Eurovan from model year 1996 starting with production sequence number 534821.
Up to VIN 70 X 068256 means the part was used on Model Designation Eurovan up to model year 1999 ending with production sequence number 068256.
As a reference, we have included the model year of change such as From mid 1996 model year or Up to early 1999 model year. However, it is the responsibility of the customer to verify the VIN number when a mid-production modification is indicated. You can find the VIN on a plate fastened to the dashboard on the left (driver's side) of your Eurovan, as viewed through the windshield.
