Detailed Description
Sprinter 2002-2006
During installation, you must remove the upper chrome bar on the Dodge hood, in order to install the Mercedes Benz grill, as there is a semi-circular shaped cutout in the hood located behind the chrome bar. This cut-out surrounds the upper portion of the star on the Mercedes grille.
The wide U-shaped metal molding piece fills in the gap around the sides and under the grill. This metal molding is furnished in black primer and is intended to be painted to match the body color of your van. Both items are original Mercedes Benz parts, and are the identical units installed on Sprinter models in Europe and all other areas outside the USA and Canada.
Fits all Dodge models as a direct, bolt-on unit, after you remove the chrome bar from the hood. Will fit Freightliner models only with modification, due to the different shaped headlights. The L-shaped metal moldings adjacent to each Freightliner headlight will need to be cut where it will butt up against the U-shaped metal molding under the grille. Once you install the grille on your Freightliner, you will understand where the vertical molding portions need to be cut.
