IMPORTANT:
One
of the biggest issues with higher mileage engines is oil starvation
at the center cartridge of the turbo.
The oil feed and oil return tubes become
restricted over time, due to "oil coking". The turbo rotates at
up to 280,000 RPM's and you do not want a lubrication problem
at this point of your engine, as it will cause premature failure of the
turbocharger. You can see the oil feed and oil drain tubes and related gasket, grommet, seal rings and hollow bolt that
are used with these tubes below. We strongly suggest replacing both of these oil tubes and all of the seals, when
replacing the turbocharger.

2004-2006 Turbocharger Actuator
Only for 2004-2006 turbochargers.
This actuator moves the variable vane mechanism on the turbocharger.
Before installing a new actuator, insure that the turbocharger vane linkage moves freely. Failure to do so will cause the new actuator to quickly burn out. (NO WARRANTY REPLACEMENT FOR THIS). A stuck vane linkage is usually the reason that these actuators burn out in the first place.

Charge Air Hose - Turbo to Intercooler - Type B 54mm 2002- 2003
Short hose from Turbo to Intercooler.
This hose is only used on vehicles that have had a replacement intercooler with the smaller diameter hose fittings. The earlier version has an ID of 63 mm, approx 2 1/2 inches.
Before ordering this hose, check the inside diameter on the intercooler end. This hose has an I.D. of 54 mm (approximately 2 1/8 inches).

ID of this hose at the intercooler connection is 54mm or 2 1/8 inches
This Hose is under very high boost pressure from the Turbocharger. When Installing this hose, clean all of the oil off of the fittings at each end very thoroughly prior to putting the hose in place. Using a degreaser, such as Simple Green, is suggested. Tighten the hose clamps at each end and bring the engine up to operating temperature. You should re-tighten the hose clamps several times after installation to insure that the hose does not blow off the fittings at some point in the future. |
